Internet Marketing Strategies
Marketing a business these days has become much more complex. It used to be advertising on television, radio commercials, newspapers, billboards, and promotional products. The marketing industry expanded greatly when people started buying and searching for products on the internet. One could even go as far to say that, if done correctly, internet marketing brings in the most profit. We are going to discuss several internet marketing strategies throughout this article.
Affiliate Marketing
With the proper preparation, affiliate marketing could be considered the best amongst internet marketing strategies. With affiliate marketing, there are two types of users - publishers and advertisers.
Publishers: These are the users that promote the advertiser's products. They are how the advertisers make their money. Through affiliate programs, these publishers make a commission on every sale they make. They can freely promote multiple products using SEO, PPC (pay-per-click) campaigns, or email marketing. Publishers take the responsibility of advertising and paying for promotion off of the advertisers.
Advertisers: These are the users that are trying to sell their company's products. They do not have to pay advertising fees with affiliate marketing as one of their internet marketing strategies. The only cost to them is the sale of a product through a publisher. The advertiser sets some kind of commission rate to pay the publisher per sale. The advertiser should compile content, clean hi-red product images, and a secure fast checkout process for their website before signing on to an affiliate program.
If you are a publisher looking for products to promote, sign up (FREE) with some of the following affiliate programs.
PPC Campaigns (Pay Per Click)
Per per click campaigns are the most common of Internet marketing strategies. There is, however, a risk. Unlike using an affiliate program for luring traffic and sales, a pay per click campaign can cause a business to go under.
Advertisers: Provides a banner or linking code to the publisher or publishers. Every time someone clicks your link with the publishers code, you pay a certain amount. So, your investment will not always return a sale. This can be a good method for an advertiser if they do proper bidding and keyword research (along with advertising on relevant sites).
Publishers: The publisher puts links to the advertiser's site or products. Every time the link is clicked, they paid are paid a certain amount. They do not earn any commission on sales. If a site gets a lot of traffic, this can be a great method of earning money on the web.
Search Engine Optimization
Another one of the great internet marketing strategies is search engine optimization. This is the method of changing the coding on the site to make it more friendly for search engines. It also consists of doing extreme web marketing - trading links with related websites. Normally, if someone is looking into search engine optimization for their company website, they would hire an SEO firm or specialist. However, this can be a very expensive route. The average rate for an SEO consultant is $60 to $250 per hour. If you are thinking about teaching yourself or your web designer, great, but SEO training services range from $300 to $1000 per hour. The rates for having this job done can be insane, and sometimes, won't yield results. If you want to read up more on search engine optimization, check out this Basic SEO Guide.
After going through all of these options and factoring in the risk factors and costs - I fully suggest going after an affiliate program. They will ultimately result in the most profit while taking the least risk. All of the risk is in the hands of the advertisers promoting your products. |
